White Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, and Dubai Shopping Festival normally follows in early December. To make both work for a UAE business, start about seven weeks ahead: fix the offer and stock first, sort the permit, build one sale page, collect opt-ins, warm up your ads, then launch a few days early to your own list.
Key takeaways
- White Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November. Last year noon ran its Yellow Friday sale from 20 to 30 November, so plan for a ten-day window, not one day.
- The last Dubai Shopping Festival ran from 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026. The 2026 to 2027 dates were not confirmed in the sources we checked in early October 2026.
- In Dubai, discounts and promotions are permit activities. Apply before you advertise, and check the rules of your own emirate or free zone.
- Google advises building the sale page early and reusing the same URL every year.
- WhatsApp requires opt-in before you send marketing messages, so start collecting consent now.

When are White Friday and Dubai Shopping Festival?
White Friday is the Gulf name for Black Friday, and in 2026 it lands on Friday 27 November. The sale itself is longer than a day. Khaleej Times reported that noon’s Yellow Friday ran from 20 to 30 November last year, alongside White Friday offers from Amazon, Namshi, Sharaf DG and others.
Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) comes next. Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), ran the 31st edition from 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026. As of early October 2026 we could not find an official announcement of the next dates, so check Visit Dubai before you print anything.
| Event | Date | Status as of October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 11.11 sale | Wednesday 11 November 2026 | Fixed date |
| Platform sales (Yellow Friday, White Friday) | About 20 to 30 November, going by 2025 | 2026 dates not confirmed |
| White Friday | Friday 27 November 2026 | Fixed date |
| UAE National Day | Wednesday 2 December 2026 | Fixed date |
| Dubai Shopping Festival | 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026 last time | 2026 to 2027 dates not confirmed |
Do you need a permit to run a sale in Dubai?
In most cases, yes. The Dubai Economy commercial permits guide lists promotions and “discounts, special offers, clearance” as activities that need a permit tied to an active Dubai trade licence. The Dubai Development Authority, which regulates the TECOM free zone areas, also asks for a no-objection certificate from the emirate’s economic department before it approves adverts for promotional campaigns, raffles, discounts and special offers.
Online sales are not automatically exempt. One Dubai retailer’s published sale terms list two separate DET certificates, one for its store and one for its website.
Rules differ by emirate. Umm Al Quwain’s economic department, for example, asks retailers to apply seven days before a sale and to keep discounts between 25% and 75%. Treat this section as a pointer, not legal advice. Confirm the current requirements with DET or your own licensing authority before any discount goes public.
What should you do each week?
Work backwards from 27 November. This is the plan we would give a small or mid-size UAE business that sells online, in store or both.
| When | Dates in 2026 | What to finish |
|---|---|---|
| 7 weeks before | 5 to 11 October | Choose the offer, the lowest margin you will accept and the products that lead the sale. Count the stock. |
| 6 weeks before | 12 to 18 October | Start the permit application. Brief the adverts and banners in Arabic and English. |
| 5 weeks before | 19 to 25 October | Build or refresh the sale page on a permanent address and link it from the home page. |
| 4 weeks before | 26 October to 1 November | Open an early-access list with WhatsApp and email opt-in. Check that purchases are tracked correctly. |
| 3 weeks before | 2 to 8 November | Start warm-up ads. Test the checkout and every payment method on a phone. |
| 2 weeks before | 9 to 15 November | Submit WhatsApp message templates for approval. Write the replies to common questions. 11.11 falls in this week. |
| 1 week before | 16 to 22 November | Give the list early access. Go public when the big platforms start, which was 20 November last year. |
| Sale week | 23 to 29 November | White Friday is on the 27th. Check budgets and stock every day and answer messages fast. |
| The week after | 30 November to 6 December | Retarget visitors who did not buy. Switch the page to the National Day and DSF offer. |
How should you build the sale page?
Build one page, early, on an address you will keep. Google’s guidance for Black Friday pages is to create the page well before the sale, link to it from your home page, include a clear and current image, and reuse the same URL each year instead of adding the year to it.
That last point matters most. A page at /white-friday/ keeps its links and history from one year to the next. A page at /white-friday-2026/ starts from zero every November.
Write the offer as plain text on the page, not only inside a banner image: what is discounted, by how much, the start and end dates, the delivery areas and the return terms. Search engines and AI assistants can only repeat what they can read. After White Friday, update the same page for National Day and DSF instead of deleting it.
How do you use WhatsApp without getting blocked?
Only message people who agreed to hear from you. Meta’s rules for the WhatsApp Business Platform require a business to get opt-in before it messages someone, and the opt-in must name the business. People can also switch off marketing messages from a single business, and Meta limits the sending of businesses whose quality rating stays low.
So build the list now. Add a “get early access on WhatsApp” tick box to your checkout, your lead forms and your in-store sign-up. Then send the list the offer a few days before everyone else. If messages arrive faster than your team can answer, an AI agent on WhatsApp can handle stock, delivery and order questions while your staff close the sales. We explain the setup in how to connect Meta lead ads to WhatsApp with an AI agent.
Which ads should run, and when?
Run ads in three phases instead of switching everything on at once.
- Warm-up, three weeks before. Show useful content and product videos to build an audience you can retarget. Do not mention the discount yet.
- Launch, from early access to 27 November. Put most of the budget here, on people who watched, visited or added to cart. Send them to the sale page, not the home page.
- Follow-up, the week after. Retarget visitors who did not buy with the National Day or DSF version of the offer.
More advertisers chase the same audience in late November, so expect each result to cost more than in a normal month. Judge the campaign on sales and margin, not on cheap leads. Our guide to cost per lead versus cost per sale shows the sums, and the Meta Ads setup checklist covers the tracking you need before you spend.
What changes for a Gulf audience?
Three things. First, language: prepare every advert, the sale page and your message templates in Arabic and English, and have a native speaker check the Arabic. Second, currency and reach: show prices in AED, and in SAR as well if you deliver to Saudi Arabia, where the same sale period runs. Third, the calendar: White Friday is followed within days by UAE National Day on 2 December and then DSF, so one well-built campaign can carry three offers.

Frequently asked questions
When is White Friday 2026 in the UAE?
White Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November. The large platforms usually stretch the sale over about ten days. Last year noon’s Yellow Friday ran from 20 to 30 November. Amazon.ae and noon had not confirmed their 2026 dates in the sources we checked in early October 2026.
When is Dubai Shopping Festival 2026 to 2027?
The official dates were not confirmed in the sources we checked in early October 2026. The previous edition ran from 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026, and its dates were announced about three months ahead. Check Visit Dubai or the Department of Economy and Tourism for the confirmed dates.
Do I need a permit for an online-only sale in Dubai?
Probably. Dubai lists discounts and special offers among the activities that need a permit, and at least one Dubai retailer publishes a separate DET certificate for its online promotion. Free zone companies and other emirates follow their own rules, so confirm with your licensing authority before you advertise.
Can I message my customer list on WhatsApp about the sale?
Only the people who opted in. Meta requires businesses to get opt-in before messaging on WhatsApp, and the opt-in must name your business. Use approved marketing templates through the WhatsApp Business Platform, and tell people how to stop the messages.
Should I create a new sale page every year?
No. Google recommends one recurring URL for a yearly sale, published well before the event and linked from the home page. Update the same page each year so it keeps its history and links.
When should White Friday ads start?
Start warm-up ads about three weeks before 27 November to build an audience, without mentioning the discount. Give your own list early access a few days before the public launch, then put most of the budget into the sale period itself.
